स्वतः हिंदुहृदयसम्राट बाळासाहेब ठाकरे यांनी मला पुष्पहार का घातला? - Why Balasaheb Thackrey garlanded me ?
Bala Saheb Thackrey
(1926-2012)
Followers in India mourned the demise of a great leader Balasaheb Thackrey on 18th of November 2012 , the founder of the party SHIV SENA in 1966. For the love of his more than 20 lakh people gathered in Mumbai on 19th of November 2012 for his final procession to Shivaji Park in Dadar and million others watching on television.
He was a great leader, orator and cartoonist and known for his hard, fast and firm decision making, but above all these qualities a very good human being and a warm person which many may not be aware seeing his public and on-screen personality, apart from those who met him and knew him personally. Probably the reason why so many personalities from different fields visited him while he was ill and during his final procession and also expressed their gratitude on various social networking site and in the press and media.
May be the neutrals and anti-thackrey people might have been bemused by the attendance of these personalities and common people at the procession, but it was not a surprise for the the common workers of the party called the 'Shiv-Sainiks' as they were aware of the aura of Balasaheb Thackrey.
This is very uncommon that a party leader sitting at the top in the hierarchy gave access to the very common worker in the party to meet him and to listen to his grievances or just to give blessings.
A nucleus with his strong nuclear force kept the nucleons(shiv-sainiks) together in the atom called Shiv sena for so many years.
A moment with Balasaheb Thackrey that i will always cherish for rest of my life came about 25 years ago when my father visited him. I don't remember that moment as I was too small, but as told by my father, he took me along with him to meet Balasaheb, he and his collegues carried a garland of flowers for Balasaheb with which they greeted him, after which Balasaheb removed the garland and put it around my neck as seen in the picture below.
