Preachings of Sant Ramdas still relevant to the Modern World

Sant Ramdas - The Guru of Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

1. Keep your mind clear of evil thoughts. Purity of mind is a must.

2. Samyak among Mana, Vani, and Karma (i.e., thoughts, speech, and actions should be synchronized with  each other)

3. There is God in efforts.  Keep trying. Don’t idle or depend upon others to do the job. Just like thirst cannot be quenched without drinking water, you cannot achieve Moksha without efforts
.
4. Perform your duties toward the samaj (community) with honesty. Be socially responsible.

5. Run your household in a well-organized manner.

6. Be sensitive to the welfare of people in your surroundings.

7. Be vigilant of evil people and be harsh with them.

8. Be vigilant about your own behavior.

9. Stay away from ego (ahamkar).

10. Become a role model for people following you.

11. Be proud and feel good about yourself and your heritage.

12. Make sure there is a purpose behind your actions.

13. Develop a strong mind and strong body. Be very careful about your sharirik (physical) health.

14. Ask God for happiness for the world and peace of mind & nirmal mati (intellect) for yourself.

15. Don’t get caught up in Maya for your personal gratification. Rather, use your resources for helping others – your family and samaj.

Practicing these teachings helped Shivaji establish the “Hindu Kingdom” and change the psyche of the society. They will continue to help today in bringing forth a meaningful vision and far-reaching societal development.

Normal and Reversed Phase Simplified

Normal phase HPLC
Although it is described as "normal", it isn't the most commonly used form of HPLC.
The column is filled with tiny silica particles, and the solvent is non-polar - hexane, for example. A typical column has an internal diameter of 4.6 mm (and may be less than that), and a length of 150 to 250 mm.
Polar compounds in the mixture being passed through the column will stick longer to the polar silica than non-polar compounds will. The non-polar ones will therefore pass more quickly through the column.

Reversed phase HPLC
In this case, the column size is the same, but the silica is modified to make it non-polar by attaching long hydrocarbon chains to its surface - typically with either 8 or 18 carbon atoms in them. A polar solvent is used - for example, a mixture of water and an alcohol such as methanol.
In this case, there will be a strong attraction between the polar solvent and polar molecules in the mixture being passed through the column. There won't be as much attraction between the hydrocarbon chains attached to the silica (the stationary phase) and the polar molecules in the solution. Polar molecules in the mixture will therefore spend most of their time moving with the solvent.
Non-polar compounds in the mixture will tend to form attractions with the hydrocarbon groups because of van der Waals dispersion forces. They will also be less soluble in the solvent because of the need to break hydrogen bonds as they squeeze in between the water or methanol molecules, for example. They therefore spend less time in solution in the solvent and this will slow them down on their way through the column.
That means that now it is the polar molecules that will travel through the column more quickly.
Reversed phase HPLC is the most commonly used form of HPLC.

Allow Your Own Inner Light to Guide You

There comes a time when you must stand alone.
You must feel confident enough within yourself to follow your own dreams.
You must be willing to make sacrifices.
You must be capable of changing and rearranging your priorities so that your final goal can be achieved.
Sometimes, familiarity and comfort need to be challenged.
There are times when you must take a few extra chances and create your own realities.
Be strong enough to at least try to make your life better.
Be confident enough that you won't settle for a compromise just to get by.
Appreciate yourself by allowing yourself the opportunities to grow, develop, and find your true sense of purpose in this life.
Don't stand in someone else's shadow when it's your sunlight that should lead the way.

2. Never make the same mistake twice,There are so many new ones,Try a different one each day.

4. Life is just like the sea, we are moving without end.Nothing stays with us, What stays with us are just memories of some people who touched us as Waves.

5. Do you want to know how rich you are?Never count your currency, just try to Drop a Tear and count how many hands reach out to WIPE that - that is true richness.

7. Never change your originality for the sake of others. No one can play your role better than you.So be yourself, because whatever you are, YOU are the best.

8. A baby mosquito came back after flying the first time. His dad asked him "How do you feel?"He replied "It was wonderful, Everyone was clapping for me!"Now that’s what is called “Positive Attitude”

Simplified Explanation of Theoretical Plates

Plate count is a (theoretical) measure of the efficiency of your column. You know that in chromatography there's an equilibrium between the stationary phase and the mobile phase; during elution there's a transfer of molecules from the mobile phase to the stationary phase and back to the mobile phase, and so on back and forth down the length of your column--that's how the separation occurs.
The distance along the column that it takes to make one of these transfers between phases and re-equilibrate is called the "theoretical plate height." If it takes less distance, that means the plates are narrow and you have more of them in the column, which means more transfers (and therefore equilibria) between phases can take place, and your column is more efficient. That of course means better resolution and better peak separation for you.
If it takes a comparatively greater distance for one phase transfer event, the plates are wider and there are fewer of them, so your efficiency (and therefore your resolution) is not as good.
The relationship between theoretical plate height, plate count, and column length is
theoretical plate height x plate count = column length
or
plate count = column length/ theoretical plate height

About My Blog

What ever in my life I desire and that I achieve, is a bonus.
----------------------------------------------

When we are born we have no idea where we have come as it is a rule of the nature but as we grow up we start realizing about people and things around us and start learning about them. This is a process where we begin liking and disliking things and it goes on as we grow up and continues till the end of the life.

Throughout our lives we are in quest of our dreams. God gives us the gift of success for our hard work and fulfills our dreams, but the biggest gift that God gives us even before we open our eyes are our parents and we realise it as we grow up.

Another such gift that I got is my Birth place.

India, Maharashtra, Mumbai is where I was born and where today I live. I thank God that he sent me to this place and I feel proud of the place where I live. I would never want to be born anywhere else if there is life after death.

This Land is a birthpalce of great people, culture, places, sportpersons, soldiers, freedom fighters, writers, poets, actors, singers, musicians,  leaders etc... and there numerous immortal work. Learning and absorbing all this gives inspiration to do something yourselves.  Life is already a big gift having got to live with all this around and share the same soil as these people and be a part of its diverse culture.

I cannot wish to God anything more as I have got the best. What ever in my life I desire and that I achieve, is a bonus.

This blog is about me, things I love and my motherland and everything related to her which I want to share with everyone.
